Ocena stanu zdrowia jamy ustnej i potrzeb leczniczych 12-letnich dzieci z województwa wielkopolskiego

słowa kluczowe:

frekwencja próchnicy, potrzeby lecznicze, PUW, 12-letnie dzieci

Materiały i metody: Badania stomatologiczne zostały przeprowadzone u 129 12-letnich dzieci z terenu miejskiego i wiejskiego. Badania przeprowadzili przeszkoleni do badań epidemiologicznych lekarze.

Evaluation of oral cavity health and treatment needs in 12-year-olds from Greater Poland

key words:

caries frequency, treatment needs, DMF- index, 12- year-olds

summary:

Background: Epidemiological studies on oral health and treatment needs have been carried out for many years by authors in Poland and around the world. The aim of this dental epidemiological study is to assess the dental health o and to determine need for treatment.

Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 129 patients12-year-old children, from urban and rural area were taken under consideration. Research was carried out by trained doctors in the epidemiological field in a dental surgery setting. The study took into account the presence of cavities, fillings, teeth removed because of tooth decay and other reasons, the presence of fissures Sealants, impacted teeth and dental trauma. Based on the obtained results were calculated the decay frequency, the average value of DMF- index and identify treatment needs of the population studied.

Results: The frequency of decay for the study population turned out to be 81%. The average value of DMF-index was 2.77. 3305 teeth were examined, 2979 did not require intervention, 165 had caries, 159 had fills, 24 were removed, 2 teeth were after trauma and 34 were protected with fissure sealant.

Conclusions: The study in 2005 shows that the value of decay frequency and intensity of caries decreased as compared to the 80s and 90s. However, the results obtained confirm the need for dental treatment for the study population.
