Gabinet stomatologiczny to miejsce, w którym ryzyko infekcji pacjenta i personelu jest bardzo wysokie. Czynników mogących wywołać infekcję jest wiele, ale wśród nich coraz większe znaczenie mają prątki gruźlicy. Patogen często pomijany i lekceważony, ale stanowiący duże zagrożenie ze względu na pogarszającą się sytuację epidemiologiczną w Polsce. Przestrzeganie zasad higieny oraz używanie środków ochrony osobistej pozwala zmniejszyć ryzyko zakażeń i uczynić gabinet stomatologiczny miejscem bezpiecznym dla pacjentów i personelu.

Tuberculosis in dentist – how to reduce the risk

summary:

Dental is a place where the risk of infection for patients and staff is very high. There are many factors that could cause an infection, but among them the growing importance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The pathogen is often overlooked and neglected, but is a major threat due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Poland. Compliance with the rules of hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment helps to reduce the risk of infection and make the dentist safe place for patients and staff.
