Ekspozycje personelu gabinetów stomatologicznych na czynniki biologiczne

słowa kluczowe:

czynniki biologiczne, ekspozycja zawodowa, profilaktyka

Narażenie to potęguje fakt przenoszenia drobnoustrojów różnymi drogami.

Ekspozycje personelu niosące ryzyko zakażenia można ograniczyć do minimum, zachowując wysoki reżim sanitarny poprzez przestrzeganie procedur higienicznych. Jeśli jednak, mimo przestrzegania procedur, dojdzie do ekspozycji zawodowej, ryzyko zakażenia można minimalizować, stosując odpowiednią procedurę postępowania poekspozycyjnego.

Exposures of dental surgeries personnel to biological factors

key words:

biological factors, occupational exposure, prophylaxis

summary:

Microorganisms constitute a threat in all medical institutions regardless of their size and profile of provided services. Infections which can be caught during the provision of medical services concern not only patients, but also medical personnel. The personnel of dentist’s offices is permanently exposed to contact with biological factors. This exposure is intensified by the fact that microorgnisms can be transferred in various ways. Apart from the contact route, in a dentist's office the air route is relevant as well. The patient is a source of diverse microbial flora issued during the performance of the procedures. The mouth is a very rich ecosystem, characterized by unusual profusion and diversity of microorganisms. Although the risk of transferring microorganisms to the medical personnel in a dentist’s office is particularly high, it is often underestimated.

The exposure of personnel carring the risk of infection can be limited to minimum by maintaining a high sanitary regime, through compliance with hygienic procedures. However, if the occupational exposure is present despite the observance of the procedures, the risk of infection can be minimized by using a proper procedure of post exposure prophylaxis.
